We did a one-day trip, so we missed a lot of things to see. Even so, we couldn’t stop seeing iconic sights all day long.
The buildings and monuments of this city are major icons of visual culture.
From the Abraham Lincoln monument, the Reflecting Pool, all the war memorials (Vietnam, WWII), to the grand obelisk, the George Washington Monument.
You can also see the three branches of government: the White House, the Capitol, and the Supreme Court. On the outskirts, there is Arlington Cemetery and the Pentagon, as well as major buildings like J. Edgar Hoover and museums such as the Air and Space Museum.
